Abstract

This study examines the impact of competency evaluation on the effectiveness of training systems at SONATRACH - Pipeline Transportation Activity (TRC) in Algiers, through four main dimensions: the evaluation process, evaluation criteria, evaluation methods and tools, and the related constraints. A quantitative approach was adopted based on data collected from 135 employees through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results demonstrated that competency evaluation positively affects the effectiveness of the training system. However, the field study revealed the complete absence of any formal competency evaluation system within the company, which led to a mismatch between training content and the actual job requirements. The study concludes that establishing organized competency evaluation practices is an essential condition for improving training quality and organizational performance
